Gone Home

Added by:Jeanette Young On: 2017-01-18 17:11:21

It is with great sadness I announce the passing of  Chris Weston former Cub leader at Crossroads

Chris has been involved in scouting for 40 years recently receiving her 40 years service certificate, almost 30 of those years in Keighley at Cross Roads.

Her commitment to scouting started in her younger years when camping with her brothers. This carried on with her training while  expecting Tanya her daughter (now Chair at Crossroads Exec ) during which she attained her Wood Beads.

Chris always looked forward to Group and day camps at Blackhills where she felt at home. She was especially proud of being one of the 3 generations in her family  in scouting.

Chris slipped gently away in the early  hours of Tuesday morning

Our condolences go out to Tanya and her family at this sad time

Funeral fri 3rd Feb in the afternoon

further details will be made available once confirmed

Reva Reservoir

Dear All

I have sent the attached email to all Cub, Scout and Explorer leaders and assistant leaders in Wharfedale, Aire Valley and Keighley Districts to advertise the opportunities that exist at the Centre and the opportunities for leaders to obtain permits to take their own youngsters out on the water, particularly at Reva Reservoir.

I have no idea what response to expect, but hopefully there will be some.

Obviously the ulterior motive is that if we can assist leaders to become permit holders then there are more people in the local Districts who might be prepared to put in the odd shift at Reva for the benefit of other local Scout Groups.

Kind Regards
